The scientific investigations of Odesa National University areconcentrated in 28 scientific subdivisions, among whichscientific-research institute "Astronomic observatory", scientific-research institute of physics, institute of combustion and non-traditional technologies, 8 scientific-research centers, 14 basic-research and applied-research scientific laboratories.
The main scientific achievements of the University are in such priority areas as environmental protection, energy conservation, the newest biotechnologies, the new materials and substances, etc.

The means of cleaning industrial-drainage waste waters from emulgated of hydrocarbons employs the use of Pseudomonas fluorescens bacteria - destructors immobilized on a complex biologically-active carrier of original composition.
The cleaning of waste waters occurs in a bioreactor "Mikos" or on filters after mechanical or physical-chemical treatment.
A biotechnology has been created which is ecologically and economically feasible and close to natural processes which provides for:
The sensors are intended for monitoring gas medium composition (carbon compounds, hydrogen, nitrogen, moisture and other gases) in different kinds of industry and an environment.
The sensors allow to register gas concentration in emissive gases with a large degree of selectivity, stability and with a small response time (3-6 s), have a high sensitivity (for example, the restoration period for CO - 10 ppm is no more than 6 s). Units are easily adjusted with a computer.
Economic advantages of the sensor are based on use for its manufacturing mainly resources of Ukraine, group methods of microelectronics, absence of precious materials, low labour input.
Motor transport makes the greatest contribution to the air contamination, in particular the vehicles that have a long exploitation term, that is explained by wearing of engine components and fuel system.The technique of restoring of worn details is designed by drawing wear-resistant composition platings. The coverage contains the components which prevent tacking details.
The comparative analysis displays, that the technique of restoring of details has a series of advantages over analogues, since it restores the detail geometry, but gives it new anticorrosive and abrasion resistant properties which considerably increase the operation term.
The economic effectiveness of the technique is based on the smaller cost of details' restoring compared with the production of the new ones. Besides it provides engine reliability, power and long operation term, considerably decrease the fuel consumption and atmosphere pollution.
Dry concentrate Lactobacillus acidophilus OL4 strain for manufacture dairy product of the preventive assigning.

Incidence of optic electronic device - long-wavelength infrared spectrum.
Equipment for production bactorodencide is meant for biological laboratories, which produce bactorodencide – bacterial product for ecologically safe elimination of mouse-like rodents in fields, storehouses, and gardens. Active agent – Salmonella enteritidis var.Isatchenko.
Usage of designed equipment allows improving conditions of salmonella cultivation by constant aeration at all stages of bactorodencide. This gives an ability to speed up production of bioproduct in 3-4 times and gain titter of bacteria fixed on cereal medium 10 times higher then in classic technologies.
Set contains equipment for microorganism cultivation in rare mediums and fermenters for bacterial growth in cereal medium adopted for taking samples. Additionally packed with air compressor and gas-meter.
Designed equipment has simple construction. This gives ability for easy usage and easily organizes manufacturing of component parts without additional inputs.
Enomelanin is a polyphenol compound obtained from the red grapes peel. It possesses an antitoxic activity, protects experimental animals from toxic influence of nitrogen dioxide, carbon oxide, tetrachloromethane, diitrobenzone etc.
Enomelanin increases the functional activity of macrophages and natural killer cells. It protects the immune system from damages under the unfavorable environmental conditions thus preventing the development of immune deficiency. Furthermore, enomelanin restores an antioxidant cell system which is damaged by oxidating toxic agents.
The pharmacological properties of enomelanin obtained from higher plants have been studied. For the first time it was demonstrated that enomelanin possesses antitoxic and immune-modulating type of activity. These medicines would be more effective and cheaper.
Hardware component of the system comprises three-channel laser distance-measuring system, that stores the information about the object motion parameters that is in the filed of vision.
Software, together with the front-end interface block, enables to register this information and then to calculate its motion parameters for any 2-D on its trajectory. These calculation results displayed digitally and graphically, accompanied by a simulator behavior at various time points.
Basic program modules have been made in Delphy program environment and work in real time. Output signals taken from distometer come to the interface block as analogous ones.
The main patent innovation of this device is accuracy enhancement and reliability when measuring distances by contactless method without intervention in relative motion of a mobile object.
The battery of air-zinc elements (AZB - 15) is designed to be utilized as a powerful reserve chemical power supply of non-permanent usage with mechanical overcharge of anodes.
Comparative analysis based on the patent search has shown that the battery has a number of advantages in basic characteristics of technical solutions. In particular, some specific energy characteristics could be use of the positive electrode of pocket type.

The device operation is based on the light scattering by aerosol particles which are carried by airflow through a focused beam of a laser diode (680 nm, 30 mW).
Each particle scatters the light in accordance with its size. The scattered light is registered by a photodiode whose signal is then processed with a PC in a real time scale.
Measured data may be presented as total number of particles, their mass concentration and particle size distribution.

The development represents the device for the automated non-contact measurement of the linear sizes of details in instrument-making engineering industry.
The gist of the development is in the use of simultaneous scanning of object borders by two symmetric beams of coherent monochromatic light. Parallelism of these beams is achieved with the help of system, which consists from mobile diffraction grating and two fixed ones.
The use of the indicated system provides measurement accuracy in any predetermined size range. Special interest represents the use of the development for the precision non-contact control of the product sizes by conveyor manufacture.
The device is based on the precision interferometric technique that provides the accuracy, which considerably exceeds accuracy of any mechanical device (micrometer).

The synthetic disulfide of molybdenum, which is synthesized during burning by a method of self-propagating high temperature synthesis is offered for usage as an antifriction and antiwearing component.
During the synthesis the disulfide of molybdenum is doped by zinc, which leads to increase in interlayer distances in the crystal, and it ensures diminution of a friction coefficient practically twice, and medial intensity of drift of pair friction -almost in 10 times in matching with a natural disulfide of molybdenum.
Therefore the oiliness of the synthetic disulfide of molybdenum has no analogs. The powdery synthetic disulfide of molybdenum can be used as dry solid lubricant, be added to engine oils as additive agents MOLYCAR®, and to consistent lubricants as well.
Advantages of synthetic disulfide of molybdenum over similar natural and synthetic dry lubrications consists in its unique tribological properties and cheapness, and also that the method is power and resource-saving.
Technology contains forming of drop of molten metal in an impulsive arc generator and modification of superficial layer in the proper gas environment. The got marbles can be used in production of writing knots of ball-point pens, bearings duckling and other devices as test-object.
The advantages before the existent technology of receipt of similar balls by the method of successive take for a ride of purveyances in an abrasive: absence of wastes, that is ecological cleanness of production; possibility of making of marbles from the metal of any tightly fusible; power capacity, that is the offered technology belongs to power and saving resources technologies.

The developed technique allows to receive a coverage on the basis of alloys of chrome, cadmium, copper, nickel, etc. The composition of devices is varied depending on assignment of a coverage. Width of a coverage is 10 -100 microns.
Coverage resistant in water solutions of acids, salts, alkalis, ocean water, and also in presence of chlorine compound with sulfur and other corrosion agents.
The metal plating are used for machines details' protection and equipment, which work in a rigid corrosion external environment, and also in clusters of abrasion, as hard surface and antifriction coverages. A microhardness of a coverage 0,6 — 10 GPa, depending of metal plating composition.
The technique has a series of advantages over analogues since it allows to receive metal platings, which have higher corrosion stability and mechanical wear in corrosion-fissile mediums with abrasive effect.
